About Sione’s Foundation

For over three years, Sione’s Foundation has conducted aid missions to support our brothers and sisters in Tonga. Our goal is to build an Excellence Sporting Facility to educate the children of Tonga in all areas of academics, as well as provide opportunity through a focussed sports program.

The Sione’s Foundation mission is to provide the Tongan community and its children with opportunity, through access to physical and mental health resources, education supplies and initiatives to improve living standards.

Every year, a group of passionate volunteers travel from Australia to the Kingdom of Tonga where they donate their time, energy and expertise to deliver sports, education, health, well-being and construction programs. Since our establishment in 2017, our volunteer base has grown to over 70 people who donate their time, energy and expertise to deliver sports, education, health, well-being and construction projects for the Tongan community. We are now aiming to conduct multiple aid missions every year to affect real positive change.

Our Vision:

The vision of Sione’s Foundation is to help people within the Tongan community who are disadvantaged, marginalized or isolated and, support social opportunity, development and education in regional Tongan communities, and ultimately across the south pacific islands.

We aim to deliver this through several sustainable development goals including:

  • Good Health and Wellbeing
  • Quality Education
  • Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • Partnerships for the Goals

Our Story

How We Got Started

Sione’s Foundation was born out the vision of one man and has grown with the help of many. We want every child and young person to have the opportunities in life that they deserve.  Sione, with the help of his volunteer team, supporting businesses, the Tongan Government and the generosity of the Australian spirit are making this dream a reality. Since the Foundation’s inception in 2017, we have helped schools, sporting teams, hospitals, community centres and disability centres in Tonga.

Where We Are Now

Sione and the team provide sporting uniforms and equipment, building materials and hospital medical supplies on each of their aid missions to build the infrastructure to support opportunity. The Foundation conducts sports, well-being and fitness clinics with the local Tongan community, and has an ultimate goal of building an Excellence Sporting Facility that will provide education, opportunity, and a pathway for every child and young person to fulfil their dreams.
